SpiderCatNZ — Data First. People Free. – please note, we are not a political party. But this would be what we’d vote for.
🧭 Core Principles
One Nation, One Law: All citizens of New Zealand are equal before the law. No separate systems based on ancestry, identity, or ideology.
Sovereignty of the Individual: Bodily autonomy, free speech, privacy, and property rights are non-negotiable. No citizen shall be coerced into compliance through fear or exclusion.
Data First, Always: All public policy must be transparent, evidence-based, and open to challenge. Messaging must reflect reality, not manufacture it.
🏛️ Constitutional & Legal Reform
Introduce a single written Constitution codifying the separation of powers, individual rights, and national sovereignty.
Entrench the NZ Bill of Rights Act and Human Rights Act as supreme law — legislation must comply, not override.
Abolish judicial activism: Judges must apply laws as written, not reinterpret based on ideology.
ADVERTISEMENTStrengthen the rule of law: End racial or ideological leniencies in sentencing and bail. One system for all.
👥 Representation & Democracy
Uphold “one person, one vote” — electoral equality for all citizens.
Referenda on major national issues: binding, frequent, and publicly initiated when thresholds are met.
Put Māori seats to a public vote — and accept the outcome. Civic equality is paramount in an MMP system.
Dismantle co-governance structures that undermine parliamentary sovereignty or introduce veto powers.
💡 Education
Restore core academic curriculum: Maths, English, Science, History — ideologically neutral, empirically grounded.
Remove ideology (e.g. gender theory, decolonisation frameworks) from the school day. Opt-in only, no public funding.
Reinforce parental primacy in value transmission — schools are for knowledge, not belief systems.
Support homeschooling and charter models with funding if standards are met.
🛡️ Health & Public Safety
Reinforce the legal right to refuse medical treatment without loss of livelihood.
Pandemic responses must be data-driven, not fear-driven — lockdowns only where home isolation is impossible.
Rebuild public health trust with transparent safety signal monitoring, public data release, and retrospective accountability.
Maternal autonomy is paramount — medical decisions in pregnancy are not the state’s to mandate.
⚖️ Justice & Corrections
Restore public faith in sentencing: punishment, rehabilitation, and prevention must all be visible and real.
Bail only when prison is unlikely. Remand should offer rehabilitative programs to earn 1.5x credit toward sentence.
End ideological justice frameworks: no “alternative pathways” based on ethnicity or belief.
🌱 Environment & Energy
No to symbolic Net Zero. Yes to local environmental stewardship, national resilience, and clean energy if reliable.
Support for nuclear power, synthetic fuels, and proven renewables — not experimental virtue-signalling.
Reinforce property rights: landowners should control their land unless directly harming others.
🌍 Immigration & Population
Acknowledge NZ’s demographic decline. Immigration should serve labour gaps and long-term resilience, not ideology.
Immigration must be skills- and need-based, with job placement evidence. Not open-ended.
Reject mass intake for symbolic purposes; respect for NZ law and cultural norms required.
💰 Welfare & Social Support
Welfare is a safety net, not a lifestyle. Support must come with expectations: seek work, learn skills, be a Good Tenant.
State housing provided based on need, with enforceable tenancy standards and means-tested rents for working tenants.
Support for caregivers and homeschoolers via MSD-administered allowances, with performance checks.
🧠 Public Sector & Institutions
Public servants must be politically neutral at all times.
DPMC, HNZ, StatsNZ must be merged where necessary, with a mandate for independent statistical integrity.
Abolish ideologically captured “independent panels”: elected government makes policy — no rule by NGO.
