The Neo-Racism of Aotearoa

I’m old enough to remember when the definition of racism was essentially “negative things that are directly related to a race of people”. Anyone could face racism, and anyone could be racist.

Now, according to Professor Emeritus of Racism, Rawiri Taonui, anyone who disagrees with Marama Davidson (of the “I am the prevention violence minister, I know who causes the violence in the world, and it’s cis white males” racist comment) must themself be a racist.

it’s akin to the belief that was espoused recently by the HRC that certain ethnicities “could not be racist”.

Rawiri doesn’t like it when people point out his racism.

A “List” set up on Twiiter, claiming to “flag” accounts as having shown a racial prejudice, especially towards Maori
