With the Civil Defence people packing up and going home, and the Red Cross having delivered some buckets and mops, you might have thought that everything in the Bay was tickety-boo.
Nope. There is still devastation and wreckage and silt and carnage that needs to be cleaned up.
Many homes are uninhabitable, as can be seen from the video below, taken by Moana Taonui from the Hawkes Bay Clean Up Crew (link to their Facebook Page). Original Video on their Page.
They are in desperate need of able-bodied people to pitch in, with a special requirement mentioned for people with the ability to operate earth-moving equipment, and anyone with said earth-moving equipment. But anyone able to pitch in will be welcomed gratefully.
